The Horns of Beinn Alligin
This photograph was taken from Sgurr Mhor the reigning peak of Beinn Alligin. It pictures the Horns of Alligin in the foreground, with Beinn Dearg immediately behind, Beinn Eighe beyond that, and Liathach to the right. The path that descends from Sgurr Mhor and leads over the summits of the three horns can be seen.
It has been suggested that this path looks a little steep where it ascends to the summit of the first horn. This is true and a good deal of care and a certain amount of scrambling are required to reach the top. However, it is not necessary to get too close to the precipitous drops on the left and with a reasonable head for heights the exercise is exhilarating rather than terrifying.
