The Pinnacle Ridge of Liathach
This photograph shows the ridge connecting the two Munro peaks of Liathach: Mullach an Rathain on the left, and Spidean a Choire Leith on the right. In the centre is Am Fasarinen and to its right is the part of the ridge known as The Pinnacles. The walker has a choice of either scrambling up and down each of the points of this serrated ridge, or following a narrow traversal path. Neither option is comfortable for those who find exposed heights challenging.
This picture was taken in the late afternoon. It is at this time of the day when the sun is shining across the front of the mountain that the relief is shown at its clearest.
